The Tinkering Dwarf

Nothing needs to be perfect here

I’m psyching myself up with writing by assuming everything should be polished. This is my personal, anonymous blog where I don’t want anything perfect. It’s almost like a diary. So no, I don’t need to be profound or have the best prose or think of the best topic. I just want to write.

It’s not like these types of thoughts are unique. Almost every writer has it. I think I’ll be fine. My goal is just to write something everyday. I have lots of thoughts but they don’t escape the confines of my brain and sometimes, they explode and make a mess. I need an outlet other than my pen and paper journals because my thoughts are too much.

Today, I woke up at 5:00am from a bizarre dream and promptly went back to sleep again. My body still aches from all the workouts I did this week but it’s a good type of pain. It reminds me that I worked hard towards the fantasy future self I always dream of.

I’ve decided that even though the uncertainty of the future scares the shit out of me I’ll try to cultivate an optimistic outlook in life. What else could I lose right? Things can and will go wrong but at the end of the day I won’t know it til it hits me in the face. No fortuneteller here unfortunately.

So, I’ll lean into the things that bring me joy and make me happy on the daily. Reading about other worlds in different stories, creating with my hands, daydreaming of all the seemingly impossible dreams that I’ve had and hoping that I can do something–a little something– today to help compound it into existence. A lot of what used to be dreams before is reality now anyway, what’s to say it won’t happen?
